Introduced in 2013, HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE is a men’s lifestyle brand that aims to “liberate the way we dress” by applying Japanese designer Issey Miyake’s signature pleating techniques to classic men’s silhouettes, including cardigans, hoodies, polo shirts, trucker jackets, and trousers. The line offers functional and fun garments that combine convenient details—such as in-seam pockets—with bright colors, geometric shapes, and an ease of drape that ensures they can be worn by anyone and for any occasion. Issey Miyake debuted his eponymous label in New York in 1971 and began showing his collection at Paris Fashion Week for FW73. By focusing on “a piece of cloth”—creating clothes from original materials starting with the research of a single thread—Miyake helped dissolve the boundaries between Eastern and Western design. Currently led by designer Yoshiyuki Miyamae and his team since SS2012, ISSEY MIYAKE continues to create innovative clothes that showcase Japanese design and contemporary technology.
